In childhood, I saw a holy fool—he was about twenty-five. He smiled at me, and there was nothing in that smile but pure, childlike joy.
Back then, I didn’t understand what had happened, but I remembered it forever. Later, I saw thousands of faces—intelligent, beautiful, confident—whose smiles always concealed thoughts. We depend on the gaze and opinions of others; we constantly hide our authentic selves, controlling every expression and calling it the norm. We have forgotten that within us, there is something greater than this endless inner noise.
This work is an attempt to return to that moment and show a person who is usually overlooked, but who is closer to the truth than we are.
