Forgiving oneself
2026 | Oil on canvas | 48" x 39"
The work explores the anatomy of remorse, echoing the biblical denial of Peter.
It captures the paradoxical spiritual state where receiving forgiveness becomes the heaviest trial.
The absolute, consuming darkness of self-hatred and helplessness collides with the external light of mercy. The green pigment breaking through the deep black is a painful, almost physiological process of rebirth.
To forgive oneself is to endure the primal fear of one's own nature and accept the crushing weight of grace.
